Prior to the biacuplasty procedure, certain steps should be taken in order to prepare the patient:

• Patients should discontinue NSAIDs at least one week prior to the procedure.
• Pain medications and blood thinners may also need to be discontinued 24-48 hours prior to the procedure.
• Other medications may be continued at the discretion of the physician.

The patient should be questioned as to the presence of any infections, known medical conditions, or allergies to medication (e.g. anesthetics or antibiotics, etc.) or other contraindications.
